In our consideration, the focus is on the high school graduates in the districts of Düren and Heinsberg as well as in the city region of Aachen. The average grades here are in the area of the NRW average, whereby the graduates in Aachen cut off with a slightly better average grade of 2.3 Interestingly, it is above all the high school graduates who visit the high school and not the comprehensive school or a vocational college that achieve the best grades. In Heinsberg and Aachen, the average grade for this group is 2.2, while it is 2.3 in Düren. The Aachen city region stands out here, since 14.1 percent of the total of 2385 high school graduates have a grade average between 1.0 and 1.4, with 16.6 percent being achieved at high schools. Thus, the Aachen city region is the only one in our region to surpass the NRW cut.In the Heinsberg district, a remarkable 11.3 percent of the 970 high school graduates reach the top degree. It is striking that only 2.6 percent of graduates receive the worst grades from 3.5 to 4. In contrast, it is 3.4 percent in the city region and 4.1 percent in Düren.
in the district of Düren, 11.0 percent of the 1090 high school graduates achieve a top sectional section, whereas half of the graduates reach an average of 2.5 to 3.5
For pupils at comprehensive schools in the entire region, the top graduation grades represent a challenge. Only 4.7-5.8 percent of high school graduates there achieve an outstanding conclusion. It is even more difficult at the vocational colleges, with only graduates in the Aachen urban region achieved a grade average of 1.0 to 1.4, which corresponds to 20 out of 170 and thus very good 11.8 percent.
