chio: jumping rider Thieme triumphs in the Grand Prix of Aachen
Show rider André Thieme ensured the highlight at this year's Chio in Aachen by winning the Grand Prix. The 49-year-old rider from Plau am See showed an impressive performance in the saddle of Chakaria in front of an impressive backdrop of 40,000 spectators. In the crucial jump-off of the highly doped exam, Thieme managed to refer the US rider McLain Ward to second place with Ilex. Third place secured Richard Vogel from Marburg with United Touch.
Last year's winner Marcus Ehning experienced a bitter setback. The 50-year-old Borkener missed the jump-off due to a drop with Coolio in the second round and had to be satisfied with the 14th place. However, the real “man of the tournament” was Richard Vogel, who showed outstanding performance with a total of four victories until the Grand Prix.
