A festival for the graduates: 1800 hats fly into the Aachen air!

An extraordinary celebration was celebrated in Aachen when around 1800 graduates of the RWTH Aachen graduated. More than 6,300 guests came together on the Alrv site, where the well-known Chio takes place, to appreciate this significant moment. It was a day of joy and gathering that put the achievements of the students into the spotlight.

The event, which meanwhile celebrated its tenth edition, offered the ex-students the opportunity to once more reminiscent and to say goodbye to their university era. Numerous stories were exchanged and numerous selfies shot, while the graduates were entered the dressage stadium in the festive framework for the moderation of Rector Ulrich Rüdiger and Vice-Rector Sabine Brück-Dürkop.

The speeches during the celebration were not only an expression of congratulations, but also contained valuable advice for the future of graduates. Dr. Sabine Klauke, Airbus's technology chief, was aimed at the new final participants and encouraged them to remain flexible. She explained: "Even if you decide on one direction after graduation - this decision will most likely not be final." These inspiring words underlined the possible turns of their careers and offered an encouraging view.

In addition to Klauke, Ina Brandes, the Minister of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia, which nostalgically remembered the moment when she was presented with the final certificate. She appealed to the students to take every chance: "Change the perspective when there is an opportunity". Her message promoted the idea of change and openness to new opportunities that can be crucial for a more successful professional career.

Professor Ulrich Rüdiger embodied the joy of the moment and emphasized: "This day is the best way to say: We did it!" His words reflected the pride that the university felt on its graduates. The Mayor of Aachen, Sybille Keupen, also addressed warm words to the celebrations and praised her role as RWTH ambassador: "With all the success that I wish you from heart, I also hope that one day you will return to Aachen."

Another important point that was addressed during the celebration was the responsibility of the graduates towards society. The chairman of the AStA, Simon Roß, encouraged the graduates not only to pay attention to their professional skills, but also to actively stand up for democracy and diversity.

The celebration also offered the graduates the opportunity to enjoy the great summer day. Entertain various performances, such as the presentations of the RWTH jugglers as well as appearances by the chamber choir and a jazz group, many experienced an unforgettable day. Poetry-Slammer Oscar Malinowski was also part of the entertainment program and gave the celebration a special note.

The graduates, including Aleksandra Janaszek, who celebrated their bachelor in computer science, was pleased with the presence of their families who had traveled from Poland. Her joy about the conclusion was reflected in her words: "My studies have not been easy, so it is particularly nice to celebrate here today." Tobias Claas, who obtained the master in computer science, also expressed his joy to see many fellow students again and to celebrate the occasion.

With the request to actively shape your own future and at the same time take a positive impact on society, the RWTH Aachen back into the spotlight as an institution that not only develops academics, but also uses future-oriented, responsible citizens. For many, this conclusion will not only be an end, but also a new beginning, shaped by the energy and the knowledge they have acquired during their studies.
