In the evening of yesterday's day, German-Dutch cooperation between police authorities experienced remarkable success. As part of a common patrol between the Federal Police and the Royal Marecaussee (Kmar), several stolen vehicles were found. These successful interventions impressively show how effective cross -border collaborations in the fight against crime can be.

The first indications of suspicious activities came from the Dutch control center, which a stolen vehicle, a Renault, discovered on the A76 motorway in Gelen/NL. The car drove from Maastricht towards Aachen. Immediately the operations of the two police organs set in motion to pursue the vehicle and carry out control before it could cross the border to Germany.

The collaboration paid off: the car could be stopped on a petrol station area in good time. The driver, a 36-year-old from Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that he knew nothing of the theft. He explained that he only wanted to transfer the car to Düren. It turned out that he also brought four more vehicle keys with him.

While the officials assessed the situation, they decided to look for further stolen vehicles in Düren. In fact, they discovered three cars with Dutch export license plates there. A review showed that these vehicles are classified as "ghost vehicles", which means that they are no longer approved and without a registered holder. In this case, the investigation into the origin and the whereabouts of these vehicles are underway.

The car of the arrested driver was ensured and he was faced with an advertisement because of the particularly severe case of theft.

Another search success

But the activities of the police were not yet over. A few hours after the first assignment, the officers discovered a second vehicle in Herzogenrath. This car was apparently left and was also checked in the search systems. It turned out that it had been stolen in connection with burglary theft and had been advertised to secure evidence. This vehicle was then handed over to the state police in Aachen for further examination.

These events not only underline the effectiveness of cross -border cooperation in the fight against cross -border crime, but also lead a light on the need for such joint efforts to ensure public security.

Yesterday's evening impressively showed how important the cooperation between different police authorities is and that such joint initiatives can pay off in the clarification and combat of crime.
