Isabell Werth triumphs in the Chio in Aachen: Olympic dream lives after a second victory
News from the equestrian world: Isabell Werth triumphs again at the CHIO
For the second time in a row, Isabell Werth triumphed at the Chio in Aachen. The 54-year-old rider from Rheinberg was able to take first place both at the Grand Prix and the Special. With her mare Wendy, she achieved an impressive performance, which she now puts in a good position for an Olympic ticket in Paris.
In her ride, Isabell Werth achieved a rating of 78.085 percent and thus clearly prevailed against her competitors. Especially in the duel about the coveted Olympic ticket, she was able to assert herself against Ingrid Klimke. Klimke had to compete with her stallion Francis as the last starter and finally ended up in fourth place with a result of 74.596 percent. Frederic Wandres from Hagen near Osnabrück also performed strongly and achieved third place with Bluetooth with 76.851 percent.
The importance of this competition is that only two places in the German team are open for the Olympic Games in Paris. The final decision on the composition of the team will be announced next Sunday.
So far, only Jessica from Bredow-Werndl from Tuntenhausen has been determined with her horse Dalera as a secure participant. Tokyo's double Olympic champion was no longer in use in Aachen and has already secured her ticket for Paris.
