Last chance: Big EM final in Frankfurt Fanzone!
A last farewell to the Frankfurt Fanzone
The last game takes place in the Frankfurt Fanzone on Sunday evening before it closes her goals forever. The fanzone extends over 1.4 kilometers along the Main and offers space for up to 30,000 people. So far, visitors have been able to follow the games on ten screens and cheered together with other fans.
Since the beginning of July, after the five Frankfurt games were played in the Fanzone, the city drew an interim balance. A total of 716,000 visitors were counted, which was far above expectations. Mayor Mike Josef (SPD) was pleased with the great response and the positive feedback from the visitors.
During the time when the fanzone was open, it had to be temporarily closed several times due to storms or open later than planned. Once there was even a storm damage in which a tree overturned. Fortunately, nobody was injured and it remained with material damage.
The fanzone was not only a place to look at football together, but also a meeting point for the Frankfurt community. Here people could come together to follow the games and cheer together. With the end of the fanzone, a piece of football culture in Frankfurt also ends.
