New operator for sorted out Airbus A220: Ibom Air takes over the 6V-AOA license plate
inauguration: Ibom Air welcomes his first Airbus A220 in the fleet
On July 11th, a ceremonial handover ceremony took place at Maastricht/Aachen Airport when Ibom Air proudly received his first Airbus A220 under the license plate 5N CDA. This marks an important milestone for the Nigerian airline, which had previously rented two A220-300 from Egypt Air and is now expanding with its own orders.
This step not only means an expansion of the fleet of Ibom Air, but also shows a clear trend in the aviation industry. More and more airlines are relying on the efficiency and reliability of the Airbus A220, which is considered an ideal solution for medium -sized routes.
This development is also supported by the decision by Air Sénégal to sort out its previous A220. After problems with the engines of Pratt & Whitney, the African airline decided to separate from this model as well as other operators worldwide.
Before taking over by IBOM AIR, the A220 had temporarily not found a new operator with the license plate 6V-AOA and was parked at various airports. But now the aircraft is actively integrated into the flight operations of the Nigerian airline and contributes to its growth.
IBOM AIR relies on A220 fleet
By taking over the Airbus A220 with the new license plate 5N CDA, Ibom Air shows his commitment to expanding the fleet with modern and efficient aircraft. With a total of ten ordered A220 models, the airline positions itself as a pioneer in the region and relies on a forward-looking aircraft fleet.
The pictures of the handover ceremony at Maastricht Airport/Aachen reflect the professionalism and pride of Ibom Air to receive this innovative aircraft. The investment in the A220 fleet underlines the strategic orientation of the airline and shows its efforts to offer their passengers of the latest comfort and efficiency.
