New parking regulations revolutionize parking in Aachen

In the streets of Aachen, a new parking regulations will be introduced from July 15, 2024, which improves parking for residents and visitors alike. In the past few weeks, the city has worked hard to set up new residents' parking zones to facilitate the annoying search for parking space and regulate traffic in the city.

Simply apply for parking cards online

residents in the zones U, J1 and W have the opportunity to either apply for their parking cards online via the service portal of the city of Aachen, where they can print them out immediately, or personally in the city services or district offices of the city. The ID cards are valid for one year and currently cost an administrative fee of 30 euros. Due to the clear regulation and the simple application, parking in the new zones makes it easy and uncomplicated.

new parking rules for visitors without a parking permit

Visitors who do not have a residents' park for the zones U, J1 and W can park their vehicle in the zones for a small fee. From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a parking fee of at least one euro applies, which enables a parking time of up to 40 minutes. In the new “U” parking zone there is also the possibility to acquire a day ticket for eight euros, while in the “W” zone the maximum parking time is limited to two hours. This fee regulation ensures a fairer distribution of the parking spaces and prevents excessive parking.
