New ICE connections from December: Fast to Paris and Berlin!

The Tabbage Change of Timetable on December 15th brings exciting new connections for travelers in Hesse! A highlight is the daily ICE direct connection from Berlin via Strasbourg to Paris, which also stops in Frankfurt-Süd. The travel time between Frankfurt and the French capital is shortened to just four hours. In addition, there will be additional late connections to Aachen, Liège and Brussels that are available daily and have so far only been offered on Sundays.

From mid-December, six new ICE sprinters between Berlin and Frankfurt will be used every day, for a direct and quick connection. The cities of Darmstadt, Mannheim, Neustadt, Kaiserslautern, Homburg/Saar and Saarbrücken also benefit from it. Kassel also receives a new ICE direct connection on Sunday from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to enable travelers longer stays on the coast.

Not everything is positive! Due to low demand, some journeys are discontinued, including an IC train from Siegen to Frankfurt and two daily IC connections between Frankfurt, Siegen and Münster. Construction sites also ensure that only an hour of long -distance transport is offered on the Cologne - Koblenz - Mainz route.
