Nine illegal on construction site: Aachener customs strikes!
Aachen, Deutschland - On October 17, 2024, the Aachen customs caused a stir in a huge cross -border control campaign in the EU! Together with 21 European countries, the investigators focused on compliance with the minimum wage and opened up shocking grievances. A total of 66 employees were interviewed for inspections of 14 companies in the Aachen city region. There were nine people's stay on a construction site - including Serbian and Moldovan citizens between the ages of 23 and 45. A man even tried to hide under styrofoam panels, while others wanted to escape the control with flight, but were stopped by the customs officials.
The ID cards of these illegal workers were moved in immediately. Now it is up to the responsible immigration office to decide on their fate. It remains unclear who your employers are, but one thing is certain: Penalties for aid for the illegal stay are imminent! This massive control is part of a large -scale European initiative and shows how important the cooperation between Member States is to combat undeclared work and illegal employment nationally and internationally. In Germany, more than 3,300 customs officers were deployed, supported by delegations from 20 other EU countries that illustrate the seriousness of the situation. More on www.presseportal.de .
