Propalestinian demo in Berlin: eight injured in the event of resolution
police ended propalestinic rally - eight injuries
In the streets of Berlin, a large propalestinian rally was dissolved by the police yesterday, with eight people being injured. This represents a sad highlight of the tense political situation, which was caused by the Gaza conflict.
The demonstration started in Steglitz in the afternoon and moved towards Innsbrucker, where, according to police, around 600 people had gathered. Among the injured was also a person with serious injuries taken care of by the fire brigade. Five other injuries were brought to nearby hospitals, especially because of circulatory problems and smaller injuries.
The decision to dissolve the rally fell after statements relevant to criminal law. The participants of the demo held Palestine flags and signs with messages such as "Free Palestine from Israel's Occupation". The event entitled "Stop the Gaza Genocide" was officially registered.
Since the attack of Islamist Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, demonstrations in Berlin have been regularly related to the Gaza War. The political unrest has led to increasing tensions between different population groups and shows the urgency of a peaceful solution to the conflict.

The dissolution of the rally by the police marks another sad moment in a time of political restlessness and social division. The need for respectful and constructive dialogue is becoming increasingly clear to bridge the differences and to contribute to a peaceful solution.
