Students solve complex economic problems at the MINT-EC forum in Aachen

Aachen, Deutschland - The MINT-EC forum "Computational and Mathematical Modeling Program" (Cammp) started this week. From October 21 to 23, 24 students from the National Excellence network MINT-EC work on real economic challenges by using mathematical modeling and computer simulations. The students learn how to solve complex problems, including the Netflix Challenge and innovative methods for generation of electricity through sun rays.

supported by scientists from RWTH Aachen, the participants in small teams investigate the questions of how artificial intelligence influences everyday life and how animated films are mathematically designed. Schools from various federal states, including the high school near St. Michael in Schwäbisch Hall and the Ludwig-Thoma-Gymnasium in Bavaria, take part in this exciting research project.
