Heavy rear -end collision on Autobahn 44: traffic jam towards Mönchengladbach

On Sunday afternoon, a traffic accident occurred on Autobahn 44 in the direction of Mönchengladbach between the Aachen-Lichtenbusch and Aachen fire junctions. Due to a rear -end collision with two cars involved, the highway had to be completely blocked at times, as the motorway police confirmed. A lane is currently released and the traffic is passed past the scene of the accident.

The accident occurred when a vehicle wanted to drive up on the highway and collided with another car. The collision led to one of the vehicles overturned. Fortunately, all occupants could be saved from the accident car and are available, as a police spokesman confirmed. However, one person was taken to the hospital for further examination.

The highway had to be closed during the accident recording and rescue work, which led to traffic disruptions. Although a lane is now released, traffic still builds up in the vicinity of the scene of the accident.
