Aalen-Ebnat: 550 children learn swimming thanks to strong partnership!
In the Aalen Ebnat, the swimming project "Aalen students learn to swim" ruled. Mayor Bernd Schwarzendorfer, the rector of the Grauleshof School Bettina Klaus-Einsiedel and other prominent representatives celebrated the cooperation between the city, the Aalen Sportalliance and the VR-Bank Ostalb, which recently donated 3,300 euros. The aim of the project is to train all elementary school students into safe swimmers. Since the start in 2018, 550 children from 25 classes have enjoyed lessons in the six swimming groups.
The enthusiasm for the project is high. The city invested almost 40,000 euros last year to teach as many children as possible. Johannes Gärtner from the Aalen Sportalliance emphasized that this cooperation individually compensates for the lessons to the level of performance of each child. The project has already achieved great success, even if many students had never entered a swimming pool before. The integration of another school is planned for 2025, which means that the program can continue to grow. Only through such initiatives can children be protected from dangers in the water as best as possible, says Gärtner. The project is enjoying great support and will continue to be continued in the future.
