Aalen's new pedestrian bridge: a masterpiece with defects!

An architectural masterpiece, the pedestrian walkway via the railway tracks to the city oval in Aalen, remains a problem child after its opening in November 2023. Despite its impressive dimensions of 141 meters in length and crossing 19 tracks, the official acceptance is still out of the question. The city of Aalen reports that the determined defects are not within their area of responsibility, but emerges from the hands of the commissioned companies, which are, however, obliged to remedy the defects according to legal requirements.

Experts confirm that the defects have no static or stress -related effects on the bridge, but the uncertainties regarding the flooring and the elevator technique are not to ignore - puddles and cracks in the surface cloud the picture. However, the companies responsible for the rectification have announced that it will no longer implement the necessary work this year.
