new horizons for flexible learning in Baden-Württemberg
In Baden-Württemberg, innovative courses are funded with over two million euros. The goal of this funding, known as The Bländed Learning, is to establish flexible courses and to open up new target groups for universities. This initiative is intended to meet the changed needs of the students, as Science Minister Petra Olschowski emphasized.
The Bländed Learning support line combined with online-based learning. This enables professionals to take up people with childcare obligations or with the desire for spatial flexibility. The compatibility of studies and other obligations make it easier to make block phases.
Three selected courses in Aalen, Offenburg and Albstadt-Sigmaringen benefit from this funding, while the office comes to Furtwangen. In total, the country provides 2.1 million euros over five years to implement these innovative concepts and to counteract the shortage of skilled workers.
A focus is on an intensive study input phase that enables students to get to know each other and prepare for their studies. In addition, innovative teaching approaches with AI are used, for example, to promote the success of the study and to take up the needs of the economy.
The office in Furtwangen plans to start operating in spring 2025, while the courses will probably start in the 2025/2026 winter semester. Minister Olschowski emphasized the positive response from the expert commission, the universities and the company on the program and is convinced that the Hawen will be successful with it.
