Oktoberfest in Aalen: Celebration mood meets future fears in Ellwangen
The Oktoberfest of the Ostalb Clinic in Aalen ensures anger and resentment among the employees of the St. Anna-Virn Grundklinik in Ellwangen. While the Aalen workforce celebrates exuberantly on October 18, the Ellwanger colleagues suffer from the current situation. They find the time of the celebration insensitive because the clinic suffers from a 60 million euro deficit and threatening upcoming closures.
Political voices, including the parliamentary group leader Franziska Schuster from the Free Voters and Armin Burger from the CDU, sharply criticize the celebration. The press spokesman for the Ostalb clinics, Ralf Mergenthaler,, on the other hand, defend the festival as an event that has been planned for months that has nothing to do with the current problems. He emphasizes that the festival should serve the cross -departmental exchange and be a thank you for the work. Nevertheless, he admits that not everyone feels like celebrating. In addition, a Christmas party in Ellwangen is planned in December, but the employees obviously have to take care of the decoration themselves.
The unrest in Ellwangen remains noticeable, while the celebrations in Aalen are the focus. More details are available on www.schwaebische-post.de .
