Sparkasse exchange and flood disaster: insight into the reconstruction in the Ahrweiler district
The importance of the Sparkasse exchange for the regions in the federal territory
In a time when the exchange and cooperation between financial institutions are of great importance, the Kreissparkasse Ahrweiler recently invited some leading savings banks from the federal territory to a meeting. This annual exchange, which has been taking place since 1985, took place for the first time since 2012 in Ahrweiler.
The participating savings banks, including Dillenburg, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Aurich-Norden, Rottweil and St. Wendel, took the opportunity to exchange ideas about current challenges and the role of the savings banks as financial service providers. Especially after the devastating flood events at the beginning of June in Saarland and in Bavaria, it was important to give the participants an insight into the flood disaster 2021 in the Ahr Valley.
A focus of the meeting was to visit the Bad Neuenahr office in the construction and the recently reopened Steigenberger Hotel in Bad Neuenahr. These places symbolize the reconstruction and resilience of the region according to the natural disaster.
Guido Mombauer, board member of the Kreissparkasse Ahrweiler, emphasized the importance of exchange and the chance of learning from each other: "Cooperation with other savings banks can gain valuable knowledge. Each house has its own philosophy, so we can learn a lot from each other. We are already looking forward to the exchange in the coming year."
The exchange between the savings banks not only contributes to strengthening the financial services industry, but also serves to support and promote the regions across national borders. Ultimately, this joint exchange shows the solidarity and the common values that the savings banks in Germany connect.
