An interdisciplinary team of trauma surgeons, geriatric and specialized nurses works closely together to treat acute injuries and provide additional support offers such as physiotherapy and nutritional advice.
dr. Thomas Lepping and Dr. Reinhard Schneider, the head of the center, emphasize that the demanding criteria of the DGU confirm the quality of their work. This includes, among other things, an experienced team of specialists available around the clock, participation in the old -age space register and structured discharge management. Center coordinator Peter Maas points out that the number of older people with trauma consequences continuously increases, and explains that it is their duty to meet these special needs and to help the patient as best as possible.
