Robbery and traffic accidents: Police investigate in Augsburg after incidents

In a number of incidents that took place in Augsburg on Thursday, September 5, 2024, there were various crimes and traffic accidents that brought the local police's effort. The police inspections in Augsburg North and South are now looking for witnesses to clarify these cases.

An incident that happened in Göggingen in the morning was a violent theft of a cell phone. Around 10:15 a.m., a man who was during a phone call was approached and snatched her cell phone out of her hand. The rapid escape of the perpetrator led to the woman slightly injured. The police described the perpetrator as male, about 30 years old, about 160 cm tall, with curly, dark brown hair and dressed with jeans and a white sweater.

Another incident occurred in Hochzoll in the afternoon, where an unknown robber from a woman stole who was traveling with her e-scooter. At 2:30 p.m. the woman drove towards the city center when the perpetrator attacked her from behind with a bike. The theft led to a fall of the woman from the e-scooter, which also needed slightly injured and medical assistance. The prey damage is estimated in the lower four -digit range.

In addition to the thefts, there were also property damage. In Haunstetten, two strong stream cables were cut in the early morning, which caused property damage of around 1,000 euros. The police have initiated investigations into property damage and also asks for information from any witnesses.

Three other accidents that also took place on September 5, 2024 show the troubles in road traffic. At 3:30 p.m., a traffic accident occurred on Donauwörther Straße when a 20-year-old opened a BMW with a Skoda. The young driver initially removed the scene of the accident, but then returned, where the police noticed drug signs and ordered a blood sample. The property damage on both vehicles amounts to around 11,000 euros.

Another accident concerned a pedestrian who crossed Donauwörther Straße around 5:00 p.m. and was overlooked by a 55-year-old driver. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and had to be taken to the hospital. The property damage was estimated at around 1,500 euros.

In another traffic control in Göggingen, a 47-year-old driver of a car was stopped, which was under the influence of alcoholic and possibly intoxicating substances. The breath alcohol test resulted in a value of approx. 0.9 per thousand, and the driver was on the road without a valid driver's license. A blood sample was ordered and the onward journey was prevented.

In Hochzoll, a 22-year-old e-scooter driver, who was under the influence of narcotics, was also noticed when the police checked him. Here too, a blood sample was ordered and the onward journey was prohibited.

The police continue the investigation into all incidents and asks the public for help. Witnesses are urgently asked to report under the specified telephone numbers.
