Donaubahn: A promise to modernize is missing - district council disappointed!

Ehingen, Deutschland - The Alb-Donau district is still in the traffic jam of modernization! The Administrative Committee recently dealt with the desolate state of the Donaubahn - and the result is sobering: an early improvement in the dilapidated route is missing. The resentment is noticeable, especially with Mayor Alexander Baumann (CDU), who explains frustrated: "I no longer want to explain to people why nothing happens on the Danube

The problems are profound, as Oliver Dümmler, Managing Director of the Regio-S-Bahn Donau-Diller, illustrates. Outdated train stations and signals hinder an urgently needed electrification of the route. A study of feasibility should bring light into the dark until 2025, but the financing remains a mystery. The circle is not responsible for local rail traffic, which makes the situation even more complicated. Despite the criticism, the Alb-Donau district plans to only participate in solidarity in the costs-an amount that would only cover a fraction of the necessary funds.

The discussion in the committee was heated. Critical voices such as those of Daniel Salemi (free voters) asked the country to finally meet his responsibility. The district administrator, Heiner Scheffold, nevertheless tried to promote the solidarity contribution - a one -off payment that does not bring the circle into a permanent obligation. The decision -making process remains exciting, while the municipalities of Langenau and Rammingen have to refuse their consent. Further developments are urgently required to bring the Danube Railway back on the rail. For more details ➡️ on www.schwaebische.de .
