The initiative "Laib and Seele" celebrates its 20th anniversary, and to a remarkable scope. Despite worrying situations, Thumm-Söhle notes that a lot of gratitude is also shown, for example by small gestures and homemade cakes from needy families.

The Berliner Tafel, which was founded in 1993 as the first table of Germany, has created an important addition to “Laib and Soul” to counteract food waste and support people in need. In addition, the table is also involved in the children's and youth area through the Kimba program, where students learn how to cook healthy and use food sensibly. These versatile actions are essential to enable poverty -affected access to essential goods, as the Berliner Tafel reports.
