Chaos of airports: Technology failure ensures hours of waiting!

A massive IT failure caused significant problems at many German airports on Friday, January 3, 2025. Travel from the non-Schengen area was particularly affected after an automated border control system of the federal police had failed. Travelers were not only affected at Berlin Brandenburg (BER) Airport, but also on large hubs such as Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Munich.
