Drama in Erfurt: Apartment burns, police investigated for arson!

Monday evening an ground floor apartment on the meadow hill in Erfurt caught fire. An attentive neighbor noticed the smoke and heard the alarm of the smoke detector, whereupon she immediately informed the fire brigade and police. The rapid intervention of the fire brigade prevented worse things and successfully extinguished the flames. Fortunately, nobody was injured, but property damage of around 5,000 euros occurred.

The police have started the investigation into alleged arson, while the cause of the fire has so far remained unclear. The Situation remains tense and the Erfurters may be proud to the rapid reaction of the rescue workers!
