Bamberg gardener pilgrims with friends from Poznan to the Black Madonna
At the beginning of October 2024, the Bamberg gardeners and their Polish friends made a pilgrimage from the Society of Poznan Bamberker to Altötting to the Black Madonna. This pilgrimage, organized by Michael Niedermaier, continues a tradition that began in 2004 and 2008 when the groups also made a pilgrimage together to sacred sites. In the basilica of St. Anna, a festive service of old oral bishop Prof. Dr. Ludwig Schick celebrated, who emphasized the important importance of German-Polish friendship in turbulent times.
The trip began with a morning prayer and a performance by tenor Michael Panzer in the Asam Church, followed by a procession of lights and a soulful prayer, in which community Marienlieder were sung. At a festive lunch, the Poznan Bamberker presented a birthday serenade for the old oral bishop, who recently celebrated his 75th birthday. After intensive spiritual moments, the Bamberg gardeners returned strengthened, while their Polish friends continued their trip to Neuschwanstein and Munich. More details www.wiesentbote.de .
