Bicycle experience weekend in Altötting: A paradise on two wheels

In Altötting, a very special event for wheel lovers took place on September 7th and September 8th: the bicycle experience weekend. This two -day event, which took place on Zuccallzatz and Kultur+Kongress Forum, celebrated the diverse possibilities that cycling offers. Altötting, a place certified by ADFC in the Inn-Salzach cycling region, positions itself as a unique destination for cyclists in Bavaria. Only five other regions in Germany have received this award, which underlines the uniqueness of Altötting.

The heart of the event was an extensive program that took place on both days from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. One of the highlights was the Mobile Museum of the German Bicycle Museum. Here visitors were able to immerse themselves in the history of the bike and try out a variety of historical and creative bicycles. On Saturday, various cycling providers and travel regions presented their products and gave valuable tips for equipment and routes. There was also special attention in the area of the re-cycling: at the second hand trade fair, cycling lovers offered cheap equipment. In addition, Altötting welcomed the participants in the Capuchin bicycle pilgrimage, which added a spiritual dimension to the event.

found wheels and exciting lectures on Sunday

Sunday had more exciting actions. For guests and locals, the opportunity was offered to buy finds - a way to give these often unused two -wheelers a new life. Until late afternoon, potential buyers were able to hand in written bids and carefully examined the wheels. The event was supplemented by five informative lectures in which renowned personalities and experts in the bike world gave insights into their experiences. The speakers included Franz Reil from the Bavarian Fernwege e.V. and Udo Kewitsch, a well -known author and blogger who has several times crossed the Alps.

The weekend was also a meeting point for cargo bike owners who exchanged various models and equipment. Mobility officer Marcel Seehuber cordially invited everyone interested. There was the attractive Radl rally for the youngest visitors, while everyone else could enjoy a guided bike tour through Alt- and Neuötting. In addition, the city gallery opened its exhibition "by bike through time" throughout the weekend, whereby the entry was free of charge. An additional highlight was the guest DJ Carmotils, which provided musical entertainment on Saturday evening.

For everyone who is looking for more information about the exciting program, a detailed overview is available on the Altoetting.de/Bahr by bike tips.
