Dresden plans higher parking fees: drivers have to dig deeper into their pockets!
Dresden, Deutschland - The Dresden town hall plans to increase the parking fees drastic to improve the clammy city treasury. As the Saxon newspaper reports, drivers should dig deeper into their pockets in the future: Parking from EUR 2.40 per hour will be increased in the most expensive parking zone 1, for example in the old town. In addition, new paid parking zones, such as in the ostrag sector, are to be introduced, where an hour parking will cost 1.50 euros.
The new fee plan could rinse an annual 4 million euros annually into the city treasury, which, according to the mayor, is to be used for the renovation and maintenance of the road network. The city council will vote on the new statutes in December. In the event of approval, the increase could be effective in January 2025.
