Lübeck commemorates the victim: one year after the Hamas attack

About 200 people gathered in the afternoon in the old town of Lübeck to commemorate the victim of the Hamas victim in Israel. The vigil was organized by the alliance against anti -Semitism Lübeck (BGA Lübeck) and should set a “strong sign of peace and against violence”. Speakers, including representatives from the Bundestag, condemned the attack as an attack on humanity and emphasized the continuing presence of anti -Semitism in Germany.

The event went without incidents; The participants lit candles and held a minute's silence. No police operations were necessary. The Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 led to the death of over 1,200 people and marked the beginning of the Gaza War that continues to this day, in which reports have died. Nearby there was a pro-Palestinian demonstration with around 40 participants, which was also peaceful. Further memorial events took place in Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at the same time , as reported www.ndr.de .
