With prominent support: Ude and Williams fight against racism
In the center of Munich, prominent personalities have come together to set a strong sign against hatred and racism. Former Mayor Christian Ude, the popular singer and actor Ron Williams and the well -known actress Uschi Glas have teamed up to collect signatures for an important project. Their goal is to generate 100,000 signatures by the beginning of October in order to set a sign against discrimination.
This initiative is no coincidence. The worrying election results in Saxony and Thuringia alerted both Ude and Williams. Uschi Glas, the 80-year-old supporter of the project, made it clear: "If you look at the elections in Thuringia and Saxony, you can only be horrified," and emphasized the need to stand up for democracy and against racism and actively act. Together they collect signatures in different locations in downtown Munich every day, including on the Viktualienmarkt.
The collection of signatures and the betting conditions
To win the bet between Ude and Williams, an impressive performance of around five signatures per minute is required. This number results from the challenge of reaching the goal of 100,000 signatures by October 1. So far, since the start of the project in mid -August, Ron Williams has already counted around 12,000 supports. That corresponds to over ten percent of the target.
The signature collection takes place every day in prominent places such as Marienplatz, Stachus and Odeonsplatz. Up to two 500 meters long roles are designed there, which are to be filled with the signatures. On beautiful days, interested parties can vote against racism from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Even if a role is full, the organizers have other roles available to collect the signatures.
After the collection, the signatures are digitized and the original roles are to be brought to the Munich City Museum. The exact details of the betting between Ude and Williams have so far been secret, but it is a large final action in planning that will attract attention.
The three actors are confident and are happy about every supporter who joins their important message. At a time when extremist thoughts are increasingly finding support and the social mood is shaped by hate, it is crucial not only to be present, but also to actively act. The initiative "not with us", which was launched by Ude and Williams, relies on this direct approach to combating racism and discrimination.
