Naturalization ceremony in Amberg: 90 new citizens celebrate diversity and integration
In the historic town hall hall of the Amberg town hall, this year's naturalization ceremony took place on Friday, in which around 90 people from 20 different countries were officially welcomed as new citizens. Together with the second mayor Martin J. Preuß (CSU) and District Administrator Richard Reisinger (CSU), the newly naturalized people celebrated their decision to become part of Amberg and German democracy. Preuss spoke of the rights, duties and the responsibility associated with naturalization, and emphasized how valuable the variety of new citizens for city life is.
The evening was particularly emotional for the test engineer Laetitia Ingrid Mamgue Foteping from Cameroon and the restaurateur Rashid Hamiko from Syria, who received their naturalization certificates on site. With the solemn oath for the fundamental rights of the Federal Republic of Germany, they showed their commitment to the values of the country. The event, which was organized by the alliance for migration and integration of the city of Amberg and the Amberg-Sulzbach district, underlines the city's commitment to integration and intercultural dialogue.
