Autumn revitalization on the job market: Unemployment in Amberg drops!

Unemployment in the city of Amberg shows signs of a slight autumn revitalization. In October 2023, 42 less people had to submit an unemployment report than in the previous month, which reduced the quota from 6.1 percent to 5.9 percent, as the branch manager of the Amberg and Sulzbach-Rosenberg agency, Stefanie Neufeld, announced. Nevertheless, the number of unemployed with 1,424 people is 311 higher than in the previous year, which corresponds to an increase of 27.9 percent. In the district of Amberg-Sulzbach there was also a decline of 64 unemployed people, the quota fell to 3.4 percent.

Despite this positive development, there are challenges: The number of reported job offers has dropped by 20.7 percent in the city and 11.7 percent in the district. In the area of training positions for 2025, however, there is a positive trend, since the willingness to train in the company remains high. Neufeld emphasizes that health, public service and construction were reported in particular in the sectors.
