City bike 2025: Does the Ammerland get going? Take in!

Edewecht, Deutschland - The municipalities of the Ammerland will take part in the city cycling campaign for the fourth time this year. According to nwzonline.de takes place from May 18 to June 7th, with an official start on May 18 at 2 p.m. in front of the town hall in Edewecht. This opening ceremony is embedded in the "Market Party Edewecht" and coincides with the 875th anniversary of the community.

Last year, the participants covered the bike over 560,395 kilometers, while in 2021 there were 646,776 kilometers. The number of registered cyclists rose to 2895 last year, compared to 2781 in 2023. The rattled kilometers led to avoiding around 93 tons of CO₂ emissions. Frank Bullerdiek, coordinator of the city cycling, appeals to companies to participate. All people with a bike or e-bike that reaches a speed of up to 25 km/h can participate. The kilometers covered can easily be recorded via the free city cycling app.
