Full closure in Halsbek: intersection Wittenheimstrasse will stay tight until Monday!

From Thursday, October 17th, the intersection Wittenheimstraße/Neuengländer Straße in Halsbek will be completely closed from 8 a.m. The reason for the full closure is extensive construction work: the old road surface is milled off and the intersection is newly paved. The diversion for car traffic is via Eggeloge and Eggelogerfeld to Westerstede. Pedestrians and cyclists have to use the detour via Brinkstraße and High Weg. From Monday, October 21, from 7 a.m., the intersection should be passable again, but there may be delays due to the weather.

In parallel to this work, the passage of the Jachsbäke under Wittenheimstrasse was successfully renewed. Despite initial plans, there were unexpected delays caused by defective cast shapes and a special water situation, which flooded the construction pit several times. The local population was annoyed by the prolonged construction work because the diversions and traffic were severely affected. According to the state authority, however, the current construction phase has now been completed, which indicates that the traffic situation will soon be relieved.
