Digital trial warnings: New warning system for Saxony and Thuringia
In Germany, the nationwide warning day is used to draw the population aware of dangers and ensure that the warning systems work efficiently. This exercise, which takes place once a year, not only aims to sensitize the citizens, but also to test the различные warning transfer methods and thus uncover possible weaknesses.
A particularly innovative approach this year is the use of digital information ads that are usually used for advertising or messages. These boards are positioned in central places such as inner cities, shopping centers and train stations, where you can reach a large audience. The BBK, Federal Office for Population Protection and Disaster Aid, emphasizes the advantages of this method: "You can reach many people, the warnings are easy to notify and easily understandable," explains the office on its website. It is important that information is communicated quickly and clearly, especially in crisis situations.
digital innovation options
Another exciting element of the trial warning is the possible use of digital displays on taxi roofs. This type of warning enables locally adapted communication, which is particularly useful to spread specific information, depending on where the vehicles are located. Falk Röbbelen, co -founder of the Uze Mobility company, which operates the digital tables, explains that this innovation is already available in cities such as Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, Munich, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bremen and Hamburg.
For the future, other cities are also under discussion, especially in the federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Cities such as Leipzig, Dresden, Erfurt and Magdeburg are on the list, but a precise start date has not yet been set. The idea is to develop a comprehensive system that is able to warn the population quickly and effectively in emergencies.
From 2023, DAB+ will also be used as a new warning. This makes it possible to receive warning messages via digital radios if the test messages in the DAB+radio are activated. This shows how important it is to also include modern technology in the warning process. It is an answer to the constantly changing media usage behavior of the population, which increasingly rely on digital and mobile devices.
The trial warning ensures that the different systems work smoothly and that people know where they can find information in an emergency. It is important for citizens to know that the authorities do everything possible to inform them in the best possible way in the event of a catastrophe.
