Saxony-Anhalt is fighting cybercrime: New contract with Dataport!
Saxony-Anhalt reinforces its protection against hacking attacks with a new contract for the specialized IT service provider Dataport. In an emergency, this should be available for ministries, authorities as well as cities and municipalities. Axel Gerster, representative for information security, announces that the contract was created in cooperation with Schleswig-Holstein and will soon be signed. The support of Dataport is granted in the event of a cyber security incident in Saxony-Anhalt, whereby the company can also provide direct help on site. However, only individual facilities can be looked after at the same time.
This measure is considered the first step against the increasing threats to cybercrime, but Gerster emphasizes that additional measures could be necessary. Saxony-Anhalt is planning annual costs of around 300,000 euros for this initiative. In addition, four new positions in the computer Emergency Response Team (Cert-Nord) in Kiel are to be created in order to be available around the clock in emergencies. Two of these positions will cost IT specialists who are intended to make a well-founded initial assessment in cyber attacks. For more information, visit www.mr.de .
