The expansion of mobile phone locations in the municipalities of Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Köthen and Muldestausee plays a crucial role in the steadily increasing demand for bandwidth, which grows by around 30 percent annually. Georg von Wagner, spokesman for Deutsche Telekom, emphasizes the continuous efforts of the company to keep up with this need and to advance the expansion of the mobile phone network.
status quo and outlook:
With currently 71 existing locations and a household cover of around 98 percent, Telekom has already achieved a lot, but plans to add another 19 locations by 2025. In addition, extensions to 29 radio masts are planned to further improve the supply of LTE and 5G.
Telekom relies on cooperation with the municipalities and the owners to open up areas for new locations. Interested persons who want to rent areas for roof or mast locations can contact the German radio tower, which is responsible for the expansion of the mobile phone locations.
