Tat series in Middle Franconia: 18 thieves made of unexplored cars!

In an unprecedented wave of car theft in Middle Franconia, almost 180 cases have been reported from unexplored cars since January 2024, with a total damage of around 32,000 euros. Perpetrators captured cash, electronic devices and other valuables after searching out unlocked vehicles in private carports. The immediate reaction of the Ansbach criminal police led to the foundation of a special working group, which was intensively identified by DNA analyzes and video evaluations and was able to identify 18 suspects.

The main suspects are young men between the ages of 20 and 25 who lived in the anchor center in Bamberg. A raid on September 26, 2024 showed that some of the suspects were found on site, while others no longer live in the center. The public prosecutor is now examining whether arrest warrants will be issued against the suspects.
