Children and youth shape the future: Parliament founded in Reinickendorf!
The children's and youth parliament in Reinickendorf again gave together at the end of the start in the second meeting in the Haus der Jugend- Fuchsbau at the end of the year. Pupils from the Reinickendorfer primary schools were strongly represented to discuss the further procedure and the work concept of parliament. At this meeting, the name "Parliament of the North" was also shaped. The children and adolescents are vehemently committed to making their matters independently and bringing their positions into no influence of adults. Alexander Ewers, the child and youth councilor, confirms: "We want to take the participation of children and young people in Reinickendorf seriously and give a real weight".
focus on personal responsibility
In the first meeting of the parliament, central topics were determined that are intended to advance future project work. The focus of "leisure and community", "school and education" and "environment" are now on the agenda. In small groups, the participating children developed ideas and measures that they presented with each other. A joint pizza meal rounded off the day at which new content and the design of a second comic that is supposed to represent the work of the children's and youth parliament were discussed. These initiatives are part of the efforts of the Reinickendorf district office, with the help of Roter Baum e.V. to create an active forum for the young generation.
The foundation of the child and youth parliament is another step to strengthen political participation in Reinickendorf. According to the BVV, this parliament will record the votes of 40,000 Reinickendorf children and adolescents who were previously excluded from the political decisions. Stefan Valentin, the youth policy spokesman for the SPD, emphasizes that the creation of the KJP makes access to political participation considerably easier for the young generation. Andrea Behnke from Bündnis90/The Greens indicates the long -term preparatory work that has led to the construction of this forum. "With the establishment of a children's and youth parliament in Reinickendorf, young people finally have the opportunity to form positions and to represent their own interests," she explains. David Jahn from the FDP adds: "We give these young people a voice", making a clear sign of the modernization of the district.
