Wage increases and allowances: collective bargaining conflict with Cinemaxx

Media Info: Cinemaxx tariff round: Righting result achieved

The collective bargaining between the cinema group Cinemaxx and the United Service Union (ver.di) have led to a result of the arbitration. This tariff result concerns the approximately 1,200 employees of the Cinemaxx cinemas. After an over six months of collective bargaining, the ver.di tariff commission has now agreed to the arbitration result.

The new wage collective agreement brings wage increases in the amount of 7.9 percent, which take place in two steps. From August 1, 2024, wage increases of six percent will initially come into force, accompanied by additional allowance regulations and training allowances. The second increase level then follows on August 1, 2025.

Another important point of the tariff result concerns the service staff at Cinemaxx. Team management, team manager and team Buddys (service staff with induction tasks) receive an allowance of 15 percent for the first time in seven years. In addition, the training allowance is increased in two steps by a total of 170 euros.

"We were not only able to receive the wage table, but also enlarge the distance to the statutory minimum wage. The arbitration result enables a wage collective agreement that is trend-setting.

The term of the collective agreement extends until May 31, 2026.
