A big event is just around the corner: On September 6, the Bad Dürkheim Wurstmarkt, the 2024 Wurst Market, starts the largest wine festival in the world, and attracts numerous visitors from near and far. This solemn event will take place on two weekends, from September 6th to September 10th and from September 13th to September 16th, all about wine, conviviality and a cheerful folk festival atmosphere.
The sausage market is not only a platform for wine connoisseurs, but also an atmospheric festival for people of all ages. Regardless of whether you want to enjoy the traditional wine tasting or just want to celebrate in a relaxed atmosphere - everyone finds something according to their taste. The festival officially begins on Friday at 6 p.m., while particularly celebrations can experience the hustle and bustle on the rest of the days from 11 a.m. The rides also open at 11 a.m. and provide a lot of thrills until they close at midnight.

One of the highlights is the traditional barrel tapping, which is associated with the crowning glory of the new Bad Dürkheim wine sovereignty this year. Visitors can look forward to musical entertainment until midnight, whereby the Hamel marquee even remains open until 2 a.m. in order to host night owls. The wheelbarrows offer a special experience, which serve wine spritzer with their typical “dubbing faults” according to traditional recipes. If you like it a little more sophisticated, you can cost exquisite wines and sparkling wine in an elegant atmosphere in the wine village.
