A60 near Mainz-Gonsenheim: Provisionary ensures relief after blocking!
Mainz-Gonsenheim, Deutschland - The A60 motorway near Mainz-Gonsenheim is released for traffic again after a 12-hour full closure. The block came into force on Thursday to install a provisional steel structure on the badly damaged Gonsbachtalbrücke. This bridge was previously only accessible, since the damage caused is irreparable and a new transition construction is planned. According to Stefan Hodes from Autobahn GmbH, vehicles can now roll over the new structure, but with a speed limit of 40 km/h.
The police reported on Thursday morning of a low traffic load, and there were slight traffic jams only in the center of Gonsenheim. The diversions led via the A643 towards Wiesbaden and other streets to minimize the impairments for drivers. But the relief on the A60 could be temporary, because the restrictions will remain until the next spring. Further Details are in a report by www.swr.de to read.
