The largest solar park in Baden-Württemberg is inaugurated: Sustainable contribution to the energy transition

On July 10, the ceremonial inauguration of the new solar park in Gickelfeld near Külsheim took place, with the Environment Minister Thekla Walker emphasized that this system is a significant step to achieve the climate protection goals. The solar park, which was developed in collaboration with Thüga and EnBW, extends over an area of 42 soccer fields and is the largest in all of Baden-Württemberg.

With an installed output of 68 megawatts, around 24,000 households can be supplied with solar power. The Thüga Renewable Energies (TEE) is significantly involved in this project and will produce around 38,000 MWh of clean electricity annually with more than 320,000 solar modules and an output of 38 MW, which is sufficient for around 13,000 households.

Thüga Energie GmbH is enthusiastic about the start of the solar complex and emphasizes that such major projects make an important contribution to the successful design of the energy transition. Through increased participations in wind power and photovoltaic freely space, the proportion of sustainably generated electricity will continue to increase in the coming years.

This inauguration not only marks a milestone in energy generation, but also a decisive step towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
