Autumn weather in Baden-Württemberg: late summer warmth or first snow?
The weather conditions in Baden-Württemberg are currently presenting itself that you could push some thoughts aside about autumn. Instead of the typical cooler temperatures and shorter days, people in the southwest of Germany still enjoy the last hint of late summer. Daily temperatures that often climb over the 30-degree mark, and many sunny hours ensure a summer departure in autumn. But how long does this mild state remain?
In the run -up to the beginning of the meteorological autumn, the weather experts revised their forecasts. Alexander König, meteorologist from Wetter.com, gives a more detailed view of the coming weeks and months. Despite the warm temperatures and the pleasant nights that many people are currently pleasing, he points out that nature does not stand still and the weather situation can suddenly change.
autumn forecast: where is the winter?
If you are looking forward to the first snow, you should be patient. The current forecasts show no signs of an early onset of winter in Baden-Württemberg. According to the data from the Climate Forecast System of the American Weather Service GFS, temperatures between 0.5 and 1 degrees are expected in September and October. In November it could get even warmer, with deviations of up to 2 degrees, says King.
It is surprising that despite the inviting weather, the cold can also occur in phases. "The nights are getting longer, and when all factors come together, it is not unlikely in autumn that the first frost and possibly snow will also be setting," adds the weather expert. The audience awaits a kind of weather lottery - from summer temperatures to frosty nights.
rain or radiant sunshine?
The question remains: Will the golden autumn, which many want, actually appear? There are currently indications that the first weeks of autumn could be clouded by rising precipitation. König explains that the warm waters around Germany evaporate a lot of water. This evaporation could subsequently bring increased rain, even if the sky stays cheerful in between.
Overall, however, the current weather cards cannot have precise predictions. It is quite possible that people in southwestern Germany will experience both cool and dry thoughts in the next few weeks. So the weather remains exciting and varied, while we gradually enter into the colorful but unpredictable autumn season.
