Complex crane use in Bludenz: Haslach masters concrete challenge

A remarkable success in crane logistics: With an extraordinary commitment, Liebherr cranes from the southern German city of Ehingen have once again proven with flying colors that they can survive even with complex challenges. In Bludenz, Austria, there was an impressive assembly of ten tension concrete binders for a new hall of the Getzner textile factory. The entire process not only required precise planning, but also the strategic use of two mobile cranes in order to secure the 98 tons of binders safely.

The challenge was not only in the weight and size of the clamping concrete ties, each 42 meters long, but also in the spatial conditions. A completely sub -cellar hall makes such tasks particularly important, since the hall floor has a limited retaining load and the space outside the building was quite limited. Despite these factors, the operation of the Getzner textile factory had to continue undisturbed, which made the requirements for the planners and the crane operators even higher.

Complex planning and implementation

Tobias Haslach, the owner of Kranverleih Haslach GmbH, described the challenges that occurred during the planning. "After intensive calculations in cooperation with other companies, we were able to develop a strategy to support the basement ceiling and to ensure the necessary load capacity. This made it possible to use our LTM 1300-6.3 on this specific surface," reported Haslach.

For the tandemhub, which was necessary to move the heavy binders, the Six-axle mobile crane LTM 1300-6.3 and the five-axle LTM 1230-5.1 were used. The two cranes shared the weight of almost 100 tons, adequately distributed by careful communication. Due to the positioning behind a massive concrete wall, the crane drivers were dependent on radio radio to ensure the precise execution of the work.

The two cranes were busy up to the maximum capacity with each lift. Each crane had to cope with 51 tons and reach a load of up to 15 meters. Thanks to this excellent coordination, it was possible to assemble up to two clamping concrete binders per day; A faster and effective part of the process that required a special permit in order to be able to transport the binder safely.

Successful collaboration

The efficiency on the construction site was not only the result of precise planning and specific technology, but also excellent teamwork. "The cooperation on site was first class. During the entire process, the company in the textile factory continued to work almost smoothly. Our crane drivers were also very satisfied with the cooperation of everyone involved," summarized Tobias Haslach.

This project once again shows that Liebherr-Krane from Ehingen not only produce large machines, but also play a crucial role in lifting and transporting resources. Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH is known for its excellent engineering art and its innovative strength, with a workforce of around 5000 employees who cover the entire range of mobile and caterpillar cranes.

Overall, this project managed the demanding requirements of the modern construction industry under difficult conditions, but with a clear vision and efficient cooperation.
