New regulation: This is how refugees are distributed in Baden-Württemberg!

Baden-Württemberg, Deutschland - On October 29, 2024, the revised regulation of the Ministry of Justice comes into force to carry out the refugee recording law (DVO Flüag). Above all, this regulates the distribution of refugees between city and counties and retains the regulation that this distribution is based on population key. What is new is that urban and counties can be privileged with a state recording facility: they can be fully or partially excluded from the allocation to the provisional accommodation. This should significantly relieve the municipal structures.

The calculation of this privilege is now based on the planned number of occupancy of the facilities. For example, a facility with a capacity of 1,000 people could reduce the obligation to take up 200 people annually. Minister Marion Gentges emphasizes that this transparent approach should give cities and counties more planning security. The privilege is updated regularly and only refer to the relevant locations within the respective circles. A precise exchange with the municipalities was sought from the start to ensure the acceptance of the new regulations, as Migration Secretary Siegfried Lorek concludes.
