Baden-Baden/Gaggenau, 04.09.2024-A tragic case will be negotiated in court in the Baden-Baden district court from September 11th. In this terrifying incident, which occurred in Gaggenau on January 20, 2024, a passerby lost her life in a devastating traffic accident. This caused dismay in the region and beyond.

The case is chaired by judge Stefan Schmid and affects a 20-year-old defendant at the time. He is accused by the Baden-Baden public prosecutor of having a vehicle at around 2.30 p.m. under the influence of cannabis and without a valid driving license. When police officers tried to control him, he decided to flee and accelerated his vehicle to over 100 kilometers per hour. The attempt to escape the police should have fatal consequences.

The fateful collision
