Drug controls on Ulm streets: Police snaps eleven racers!

Herbrechtingen, Deutschland - The Ulm police carried out intensive controls at two locations near Gerstetten on Saturday between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. At the roundabout brick factory and at the Sachsenhart car park, drivers were checked for drug and alcohol influence. Supported by forces from the police headquarters, the focus was on drivers who were presumably under drugs.

Results of the control were alarming: The suspicion of drug influence was determined for eleven drivers, so that the onward journey was prohibited for 24 hours. In addition, all affected drivers had to hand in a blood sample. Another driver was stopped under the influence of alcohol and was also no longer allowed to drive. These measures are part of a comprehensive police strategy to reduce the number of drug accidents. The police emphasize the urgency of such controls to ensure safety in road traffic.
