Scandal de psihiatrie în Baden-Württemberg: nemulțumiri expuse conform raportului de tortură

Mental health care in Baden-Württemberg is the focus of increased criticism. The latest annual report of the "National B are prevented from contraception" brings to serious allegations that are directed against several psychiatric clinics of the ZFP (Center for Psychiatry) Baden-Württemberg. In public this report provides troubles and horrified many who pay attention to the important issues of mental health.

In particular, the psychiatres in Bad Schussenried, Emmendingen, Calw and Weinsberg near Heilbronn are highlighted as problematic. The investigation showed that the conditions for the patients in these facilities were classified not only as "intolerable", but also as "unacceptable". The "national body for contraception of torture" has documented indications of the inadequate hygiene conditions, overcrowding of rooms and violent restrictions on privacy when going to the toilet.

grievances in Bad Schussenried and Emmendingen

A particularly alarming finding concerns the arrangement of patients to intervene in the crisis in Bad Schussenried, where they were housed in rooms without toilets for months. They were only available to urine bottles or plug -in pools, an unsustainable situation that raises serious concerns about human dignity. The facility in Emmendingen also shows similar problems. During the visits to the prevention authority, a multiple occupancy of patient rooms was found, whereby the toilet was often only separated from the rest of the room by a curtain.

These discords are not the only ones who are addressed in the report. The Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration of Baden-Württemberg calls for the reason that the overcrowding is necessary due to the increased number of judicial accommodation. In the eyes of the supervisory authorities, this argument could offer a certain justification, but it remains questionable how high the price for the patient is.

shocking practices and official reactions

The routine bondage of patients in the courtyard of the psychiatric facility in Weinsberg is considered particularly critically. This refers to statements by the Federal Constitutional Court, which questions the need for such measures in a secure environment. In addition, newly admitted patients had to be completely undressed in the search - a practice that is only used in most forensic facilities in exceptional cases. This not only arouses ethical concerns, but also puts the mental health of the people concerned under pressure.

The fully extensive image is characterized by a comprehensive 100-page report, which not only deals with negative examples, but also documents positive aspects of care in some facilities. When asked about the critical points, the deputy ZFP managing director Gerhard Längle reacted by noting that many of the alleged conditions were temporary and were due to the significantly increased number of patients. Nevertheless, the central question remains whether such explanations meet the requirements for decent treatment in psychiatric institutions.

The reports on scandalous circumstances in psychiatric clinics throw a shadow on the entire industry and illustrate that reforms in mental health care are essential. While the authorities are trying to address the grievances, the company still has to insist that the dignity and well -being of the patients are always in the first place.
