Falsification of border control: Couple from Syria with fake ID cards!

A couple in a long-distance bus from Italy tried to travel to Germany with fake Romanian identity cards at the Rheinfelden motorway border crossing. The Federal Police found noticeable counterfeiting features on the night from Monday to Tuesday (08.10.24). During the survey, the 61-year-old man and his 51-year-old wife stated that they are Syrian citizens, and applied for asylum.

The officials initiated criminal proceedings for falsification of documents and violations of the Residence Act. After the check, the two were forwarded to the responsible state admission office while the investigation was underway.
