Customs officials strike against undeclared work: 17 suspects arrested!

Stuttgart, Deutschland - On October 8, 2024, there was a massive use of the financial control of the undeclared work of the Stuttgart main customs office, in which 37 locations in southern Germany were searched. The focus is on 17 suspects from the construction industry, which are suspected of having evaded huge amounts to social security contributions through a complex company network. It is assumed that it initiated a systematic fraud with so -called cover calculations of at least 2.3 million euros, which was handled through fictitious subcontracts and fictitious invoices.

A total of around 250 customs officers were involved in the search and interrogation measures. The investigation has not yet been completed and the authorities continue their work to further uncover the extent of the machinations. This procedure is a clear sign of the fight against undeclared work and fraud in the construction industry.
